A Kansas City Family Home Embraces Nature | Houzz

Houzz profiled the Old Briarcliff house that Julie and Christian Arnold, an interior designer and an architect, designed and built for their own family.

It runs about 2,500 square feet on a steep, wooded lot. The plan opens toward daylight and holds onto the tree line rather than clearing it, which is a harder site decision than it sounds. Keeping mature trees through construction constrains access, staging and foundation work for the length of the job.
