What happens after you get in touch
Every project starts the same way, whether it is a kitchen renovation or a new house on a teardown lot. Here is the sequence, so you know what you are agreeing to before you fill anything out.
1. Conversation
We start by understanding what you want to build, where, and roughly what you are prepared to spend. If the project is not a fit for us, we will say so and point you toward someone better suited to it. That first call usually takes about half an hour.
2. Site visit
Once we understand the project, we visit the property to see what we’re working with firsthand.For a renovation or addition, we walk the existing home and look at its condition, layout, and opportunities. For a new home, we walk the lot and consider the site, access, grade, trees, utilities, and other factors that will shape the build.The goal is to understand the property before we start making assumptions about the project, scope, or cost.
3. Budget range before design documents are finalized
We give you a working budget range early, while the design can still respond to it. Waiting until construction documents are finished to have the money conversation is the most common reason custom projects stall.
4. Written scope
Nothing starts without an agreed scope of work, an allowance schedule, and a construction schedule you can hold us to.

Faust Construction has been building in the Kansas City metro for more than 25 years. Every city we work in has its own review process, permit timeline, and lot rules, so we keep a written guide to the ones we work in most often.
