Remodel of the Year 2013 | Kansas City Homes & Gardens

Kansas City Homes & Gardens named Faust Construction twice in its 2013 Remodel of the Year awards.

The Gold award for Best Exterior Remodel went to the Drake house in Kansas City, with architect James Franklin. The Silver award for Best Kitchen Remodel in the $70,000 to $120,000 range went to a kitchen built with Poolehaus Residential Design.

Exterior work is the category where a remodel can least afford to hide. New material has to meet original construction along lines nobody drew to be met, and that joint stays visible from the street for the life of the building. Getting it to read as one house rather than two is most of the job.
